MEGHAN MARKLE is set to marry Prince Harry in May. The 36-year-old LA native was an actress in the popular TV show Suits. Could she carry on working as an actress after she marries the prince?
The stunning actress was also reportedly in the line up to play a Bond girl before news the relationship broke.
The Sun revealed that Meghan was shortlisted to star opposite Daniel Craig in the franchise worth between £1.5 billion and £3.7 billion.
A source said: “Meghan fits the role of a Bond girl perfectly. She’s glamorous and sexy and a good actress.
“The role more recently has gone to actresses deemed to be rising stars, and Meghan certainly was seen as that before her relationship with Harry became public.”
They added: “Her engagement effectively spelt an end to her acting career too so that was the final blow.”
Evidently, industry professionals aren’t banking on Meghan taking up any more acting roles recently, and she has quit her role in Suits.
Can Meghan Markle still be an actress?
While there are no hard and fast royal rules against Meghan continuing to work in film and television. However, the Royal Family are fiercely private, and press junkets may cause some friction for a new member of Briton’s most important family.
Lots of royals have had jobs however, some even in the entertainment industry.
Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and the Queen’s third son, worked at Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Theatre Company, working as a production assistant on musicals including Cats.
Prince William has worked as an air ambulance pilot, while Prince Harry was employed by the army.However, it is generally thought that Meghan will use her new role to advocate for charitable causes.
