Thor star Chris Hemsworth is coming to the Gold Coast
Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth has confirmed he will attend the Australian premiere of his new film on the Gold Coast.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk this week wrote to Hemsworth and asked if he would be her “date” at the Gold Coast screening of Thor: Ragnarok on October 13, News Corp reported.
Due to a scheduling clash, he had not accepted the invitation to the Gold Coast event but had intended to attend a VIP screening in Sydney on October 15.
But the Marvel actor has confirmed he will attend the red carpet event on the Gold Coast next month.
Hemsworth will join director Taika Waititi and executive producer Brad Winderbaum, together with cast, crew, celebrities, and dignitaries at the screening at Event Cinemas Robina.
In the Marvel film, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilisation – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela.
But first he must survive a gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger, the Incredible Hulk.
Thor: Ragnarok was filmed around the Gold Coast and Brisbane last year.
